Gabor Ladies Boots
Gabor boots are where the brand's comfort really shows, because a boot has to work harder than a shoe. This season's range at The Shoe Horn runs from leather and suede ankle boots, on flat soles and low block heels, through Chelsea boots like the long-running Dublin, to the Utopia chunky wedges that give you height on a solid sole. There are fleece-lined ankle boots for the coldest months and Rolling Soft ankle boots for anyone who walks a lot. Black and burgundy lead the colours, with brown and navy alongside. If you'd like to know more about the brand itself, our Gabor page covers their Best Fitting lasts, sizing and the rest of the range.
Do Gabor boots come in wider fittings?
Some do. A number of styles in this range are made on a G or an H fitting, a G being slightly wider across the ball of the foot and an H the wide fitting with extra depth as well, and it's stated in the product details wherever a boot has one. The Dublin Chelsea boots, for example, are an H. Because a boot sits higher on the foot, the fitting makes more difference than it does in a shoe: an ankle boot that's tight across the joints doesn't ease the way a loafer might. If you're not sure which fitting you take, give us a call on 01 8490847 and we'll talk it through.
Which Gabor boots are warmest?
The fleece-lined ankle boots are the ones for winter, including a Rolling Soft style that pairs its fleece lining with twin side zips. They give you warmth without the bulk of a snow boot, and several have a removable insole if you wear an orthotic. Look for "fleece lined" in the product name.
